In recent poll taken at Trade Finance Magazine’s Global Export Finance Conference, Russia was once again voted the hottest market for 2010. Export finance now seems to be the order of the day, with ECA coverage in loans being more important than ever. As the region emerges from the financial crisis, an increasing number of Russian corporates are turning to export credit agencies for support and these agencies are responding to demand. One may ask, however, whether ECA demand is sustainable, and what to expect as the syndications and bond market recover.
Debate also abounds in Russia as to the capacity of Russian banks. Are they credit worthy? How have their relationships with international banks changed? Are they capable of supporting the SMEs that the international lenders are unwilling to finance? These are just some of the questions that will be debated at the 3rd Annual Structured Trade and Export Finance in Russia and the CIS Conference.
This year’s forum will address the key topics in export and agency finance across sectors, from energy to extractive to agribusiness. Expert corporate, bank and agency representatives will provide insight into the landmark deals that are being done and the trends to expect in the region going forward.
Attending this key event will provide the ideal opportunity to find out what is really going on in this vital region at this crucial time.
Key topics to be covered include:
- The role of agencies in Russian trade
- Is there a return to pre-export finance?
- The latest developments on the Nord Stream project
- Reviewing trade and commodity debt restructurings
- The expanding and evolving ECA business in Russia and the CIS
