Turkey is set for massive levels of project financing in the energy and transportation sectors. There are many opportunities for projects to rejuvenate ageing infrastructure, and the State of Turkey has identified private sector investment in these projects as the way forward, through Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), as well as innovative and exciting infrastructure and project financing.
The privatisation of motorways, toll roads and bridges has already begun, with projects that have attracted much domestic and international interest. The privatisation of ports and airports is underway, and billions of dollars are set to be poured into new projects in these sectors. New and innovative rail projects are being developed, and questions are being raised as to how project developers can work with municipalities on these projects.
Turkey is also facing a crippling electricity shortage set to take effect as early as this year, and the Turkish government are making huge e efforts to promote private sector development of Greenfield and Brownfield power plant projects, as well as exploring alternative sources of energy such as hydro, wind and geo thermal power as a way of meeting this shortfall.
In this context, Euromoney Seminars and Project Finance Magazine are proud to present the inaugural Project and Infrastructure Finance in Turkey to take place in Istanbul.
This event will cover:
A sector by sector breakdown of project financing “hot spots” in Turkey, looking at why they are so attractive to international and local project developers
Legislative review – How will current PPP and project finance legislative review affect future project financing?
How has the presence of international banks affected local banks’ capacities for project financing?
How can risk be successfully calculated and evaluated in these projects in Turkey?
This conference will provide an unprecedented opportunity for the international and local project finance community to meet and discuss the new and exciting opportunities for project and infrastructure financing in Turkey.
