Mark Kleinman

Global Senior Managing Director, General Manager of Sales & Project Finance

Mr. Kleinman is currently a Senior Managing Director and General Manager of Sales & Project Finance for General Electric. He manages a global organization of project finance professionals situated in 25 countries, and is responsible for arranging equity and debt financing in support of GE industrial sales, principally outside of the United States. The S&PF team maintains relationships with major export credit agencies, commercial and development banks and private sources of capital around the world, and also utilizes an array of innovative financial products in both the private and public capital markets. Through close coordination with all the GE businesses, S&PF leverages the significant expertise and relationships of GE to bring unique financial solutions to our customers. Mr. Kleinman was previously the Treasurer of J.P. Morgan Chase, where he headed a global team of over 200 professionals responsible for managing the bank's $1.5 trillion balance sheet. Mr. Kleinman served on the Board of Directors of J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc., the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO), the J.P. Morgan Investment Committee, the JPM Liquidity Risk Committee, the J.P. Morgan Foundation and the Employee Plans Investment Committee. Mr. Kleinman also headed the company's Corporate Insurance Group. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Chase, Mr. Kleinman was EVP, Managing Director and Treasurer of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank at Citigroup (GCIB). Mr. Kleinman served as Chairman of the GCIB ALCO and a member of the GCIB Finance Operating Committee, the Citigroup ALCO and the Citigroup Capital Committee. Mr. Kleinman also held the position of Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Salomon Smith Barney (the predecessor to the GCIB). He was Chairman of the Board of Salomon SWAPCO and Salomon SARCO, which were independent AAA/Aaa rated trading companies. Prior to Joining Salomon Smith Barney in 1997 Mr. Kleinman was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. where he held a number of senior positions in a variety of divisions, including Investment Banking, Fixed Income, Treasury and Strategic Planning. Mr. Kleinman is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and lectures at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Mr. Kleinman received his MBA from Columbia University. He also holds a Master in Architecture from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science magna cum laude from the City University of New York.
