Charles Tang

China - Brazil Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Charles Tang is chairman of the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He is also a member of the World Policy Institute in New York and the Fernand Braudel Institute of World Economics in Sao Paulo. The Brazil China Chamber he presides represents the State of Mato Grosso do Sul and the State Government of Pará in China. Charles is also: Honorary president of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce; member of the International Advisory Council of the Wuhan Government; economic advisor to the Governments of Jilin City and of Huainan; advisor to the Government of Jiangxi Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Nanning sub-council of the CCPIT, Councilor of the Foreign Trade Council of Fecomércio (Federation of Commerce of São Paulo) and Director of the Federation of International Chambers of Commerce (National Confederation of Commerce in Rio de Janeiro). He was President of the Polo Federation of Rio de Janeiro and was a member of the US Polo and UK Polo Associations and of YPO and WPO. He has a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. He completed law school at the Estácio de Sá University in Brazil, where he was an assistant professor of Economic Development, and took a doctoral course at Paris V, Sorbonne in France. He presently heads a Brazilian mineral assets development holding company and a financial advisory firm.
