Elizabeth Moore joined the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) in September 2010 as Director, Competitive Process. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing a new process for delivering major transmission Infrastructure projects.The AESO was mandated by the provincial government to develop the Competitive Process (CP) and have it approved by the provincial electricity regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission. The AESO received approval from the regulator in early 2013. Between May 2013 and December 2014, Ms. Moore directed the competition for the Fort McMurray West 500 kV Transmission Project, the first of two transmission projects that will be delivered through CP.Before joining the AESO, Ms. Moore spent five years with TransAlta in increasingly senior roles, managing the strategic and commercial aspects of its national and international coal fleet.Ms. Moore also acquired experience in the energy industry working at NOVA Corporation, TransCanada Pipelines, Westcoast Energy, and Duke Energy.Ms. Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts, Economics and a Masters of Economics, both from the University of Calgary.
