John joined AIG Investments with the acquisition of American General Investment Management in 2001. As the Head of Global Project Finance, he is responsible for managing debt investments in single asset, stand-alone Project financings. These investments include power plants, refineries, toll road, airports, pipelines, and other types of projects that are financed independently. Currently this portfolio has over one hundred investments in over a dozen countries and totals over $5.2 billion. John is also a member of the Credit Committee for the Private Placement Group and also for the Project Finance Commercial Risk Program within AIG”s Political Risk division. Prior to joining AIG Asset Management Group, he was a Director in the Project Finance Group at Bank of America and in the municipal securities division at CS First Boston beginning in 1988. Before his career in finance, John was an engineer and planner for several years concentrating on transportation infrastructure in New York and Seattle. He received a BS in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Southern California, an MSCE in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and an MM/MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University
