Jim joined HSBC in 2006. He has more than 15 years banking experience, principally in project and export finance, with experience spanning infrastructure, power, oil and gas, mining and telecommunications. During his time at HSBC, Jim has been involved in a number of landmark transactions, including:• Financing of Fenix, a 512 MW net combined cycle natural gas fired power plant in Peru• Financing of Cerro del Aguila, a 500 MW hydroelectric power plant in Peru• Financing of EDF Eoliatec del Istmo, a 164 MW windfarm in Mexico• Financing of Mareño Renovables in Mexico, the largest wind financing in Latin America• Financing of 300 MW Nuevo Pemex plant in Mexico (Latin American Power Deal of the Year 2010)• Financing of Jaguar plant in Guatemala (LatinFinance Project Finance Deal of the Year 2010)• Financing of the Petroterminal de Panama a storage and transshioment facility (2009 Deal of Year - Refinancing in Latin America)• Financeing of Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure's acquisition of 10 toll roads in the state of Durango• Financing of Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners' USD3.4bn acquisition of 3 toll roads in Mexico (PFI Americas Deal of the Year 2007, Project Finance Deal of the Year 2007; Infrastructure Journal Global Deal of the Year 2007)• Financing of La Yesca Hydroelectric plant (Latin American Power Deal of the Year 2007)• Financing of AES Angamos plant in Chile (Latin American Power Deal of the Year 2008) Jim has an MBA (with honors) in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia.
