Carla has a long standing career in Export Finance and extensive experience in structuring and arranging risk mitigated financing for global clients utilizing ECAs, multi-lateral agencies as well as private insurance products. She has worked for the major financial institutions active in the emerging markets arena such as Bank of America, Unit-Credit HypoVeriensbank, Bank of New York, Deutsche Bank and JPM-Chase. Carla also has distribution and sales experience through her work on the Latin America Syndications Desk at Banc of America LLC and the debt capital markets Latin America team at Uni-Credit HypoVereinsbank. In 2004 Carla joined HSBC in Project and Export Finance team in New York and has been with HSBC ever since. She is now the Global Coordinator for long term Ex-Im, EDC and MIGA programs covering the Bank's North American clients who are active users of these programs. During this time Carla has helped to grow HSBC's Ex-Im Bank business by closing a combination of loan to bond financings for Air China, Cathay Pacific and Etihad, increasing the Bank's Ex-Im portfolio is Sub-Saharan Africa. In Asia, she has helped HSBC to close a US$470mil Ex-Im landmark transaction for Asia Broadcast Satellite and worked to make HSBC a major user of the Ex-Im Sovereign Loan Guarantee Program with Chinese financial institutions and the Ministry of Finance supporting exports from HSBC's middle market clients. Carla has been a member of the Ex-Im Bank Sub Saharan Africa Advisory Board and currently serves on Private Export Funding Corporation's Bank Advisory Council. She has a MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business, New York University, an MA in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University and a BA (cum laude) in Political Science & Economics from Mt. Holyoke College.
