Erwandi is a Senior Partner and the Head of the Finance & Project group in Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners (“HHP”), widely recognized as one of the leading law firms in Indonesia with more than 100 lawyers. HHP is a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International in Indonesia. Erwandi has 30 years extensive experience working in the commercial and financial sectors. Erwandi has had multiple careers, having worked as a central banker at Bank Indonesia (the central bank of Indonesia) where he worked with multilateral agencies, such as the Overseas Economic Corporation Fund (OECF), Japan; The World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and with the National Planning Agency (Bappenas). He was also an investment banker with Schroders Indonesia (an investment banking arm of Schroders Plc., London) before becoming a lawyer with HHP. In addition to his Indonesian law degree from Airlangga University, Erwandi has an LL.M. from Cornell Law School, USA, and an MBA from Boston University, USA. He also received two prestigious graduate scholarships from Fulbright, USA and The World Bank. Erwandi's wide-ranging experience as a regulator, an investment banker and now a senior partner at HHP as well as the combination of legal and corporate finance education allows him to have cross-disciplinary and insightful approaches in representing many international banks and multinational corporations in their corporate and financial transactions. In the infrastructure sector, he has worked on various matters including ports related transactions. He assisted Pengembang Pelabuhan Indonesia (PPI) in matters related to the Kalibaru Terminal in the Tanjung Priok Port. He also assisted foreign agencies and multinational companies in the areas of sewage treatment plants; alternative financing for regional water companies; animal waste management; and starch waste management for biogas projects. He was appointed to look into the possibility of using securitization to fund toll road and electricity projects. He has also assisted Indonesia Infrastructure Finance/IIF. Erwandi is noted as a Leading Lawyer by IFLR1000. And according to Asia Pacific Legal 500, his 'knowledge of the intricacies of the finance industry is second to none'. Erwandi has been a regular contributor to Doing Business publications by the World Bank and the IFC. His article on "Structuring Asset-backed Securities in Indonesia" was published in the Global Securitisation and Structured Finance Handbook, sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
