Currently Miguel Angel Alonso, in charge of the company that developed and built 65% of installed capacity in Mexico in terms of wind power generation. Mr. Alonso started his professional career in Azkoyen as Industrial Research and Development Engineer. He founded his own engineering company from 1990-2000, focused on projects for large industrial developments. In 2000 integrates as a Project Manager in Construction Acciona team, working on the expansion of this company in the renewable energy sector. In 2005 moves to the position of Project Manager of Acciona Energy International focused on the development of renewable energy in countries like Spain, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Canada and Mexico. In 2007 Miguel Angel Alonso arrived in Mexico as Technical Director and led the construction of the largest wind farm in Latin America, in alliance with Cemex, under a scheme of self-sufficiency. This plant has a capacity of 250MW, in operation since 2009. In 2008 overall direction of Acciona Mexico, currently practicing as General Manager. In just four years Acciona has positioned itself as a leader in renewable energy in the country.
