Juan-Jose Mejia

Juan Jose has over 20 years of experience in Latin American banking, of which the last 14 have been in the commodity sector. He joined Deutsche Bank in mid 2010 to help the expansion of the Structured Commodity Trade Finance Group (“SCTF”) in USA and Latin America. Previously, he was the Americas Head of SCTF for Fortis, where he led similar expansion efforts. Before joining Fortis, Juan worked 5 years at BNP Paribas, where he was a Director responsible for half of its Oil & Gas Latin American Portfolio and Head of the Andean Region. His banking career started in 1994 at Chase Securities, where he completed his Credit Training program and specialized in Project Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Syndications. Juan holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BS in Engineering from the Universidad Catolica del Peru. He also studied at Keio University in Japan. Juan is fluent in Spanish and speaks intermediate Portuguese and French.
