Mariano Urquiola

Head of Trade, Export & Commodity Finance USA

Mariano Urquiola is currently the Head of Trade, Export & Commodity Finance at Santander Bank in the U.S. His team is responsible for the origination and execution of trade finance transactions and working capital solutions utilizing Traditional Trade products, Structured Trade Finance programs, Financial Supply Chain solutions, and Bilateral Lending facilities for Santander's Global Banking and Market clients in the U.S. Mariano has over 15 years of experience in many aspects of International Trade, Export, and Commodity Finance. Prior to joining Santander, Mariano was a Client Executive Officer at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, based in NY, responsible for the origination and structuring of trade and commodity finance transactions for large corporates in the Americas. He also held positions at HSH Nordbank and Maple Trade Finance developing trade financing solutions for commodity-related Companies in Latin-America, spending the vast majority of his time working in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Argentina. Prior to relocating to NY in 2004, he held positions at Kraft Foods, BI Creditanstalt and Investment Bankers and Consulting Partners based in Argentina. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Buenos Aires University.
