Brendan is a partner in our energy practice area, focusing his practice on energy, climate change, regulation of public utilities, competition law, corporate law and foreign investment. He has significant experience in project regulation, development and financing in the energy sector and the carbon market both at national and international levels.Before joining Rubio Leguía Normand, Brendan worked as a member of the Peruvian team responsible for the negotiation of carbon markets and mitigation mechanisms in the negotiations held under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol. In addition, he was a senior associate in the Energy Department and responsible for the Climate Change Department of the Lema, Sorari & Santiváñez law firm. In Germany, he worked as researcher in the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and as associate attorney at the Olaechea law firm. His professional career has been featured by Chambers & Partners, the prestigious international publication, which recognised him as a leading lawyer in Peru in several areas of expertise, such as project and electricity. Finally, Brendan is a professor of the Regulation of Public Services and Seminar with the energy law course at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and has a diploma in energy law and diploma in environment from UPC, as well as a master's in energy management from ESAN University.
