Vice President Structured Finance Banks and Capital Markets

Francois started its professional life in the airline industry, working for British Airways technical services in London and then for Air Liberte in Paris as part of the flight operations division where he interfaced closely with pilots and airworthiness authorities. He joined Airbus in Toulouse back in June 1995 as Senior Airline Analyst in the Customer Marketing Department. In his marketing position, he participated in a number of sales and marketing campaigns involving major airlines in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He joined the Risk Assessment and shortly after the Airbus Customer/Sales Finance team back in 1999 where he took responsibility for the negotiation and implementation of the financing commitments provided to airlines during sales campaign. His accounts included airlines in Asia and Latin America. From 2002 to 2005, he moved to Airbus North America (Virginia) as Director Sales Finance. During such period, he was involved in sales campaigns involving major airline accounts in the United States and Canada; he negotiated and implemented financings to support aircraft deliveries; he was also directly involved in the bankruptcy proceedings and restructurings of major North American airlines. Currently, Francois is Vice President Structured Finance – Banks and Capital Markets in Toulouse. One of his main responsibilities includes the management of the aircraft financing exposure; this involves identifying, structuring and implementing sell down/trading transactions involving the aircraft financing exposure that is either implemented or committed. His other major role is to develop the relationship with banks, capital market investors currently active in aircraft financing and generate interest from new sources of capital; this involves regular communication with the market and non-deal roadshows. He is also very active in supporting the creation of alternative sources for aircraft financing and developing capital market investors’ interest in the financing of non-US airlines. Francois, 46 years old, is a French citizen. He graduated from the French Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in 1993. He is married and the father of two boys, aged 16 and 12. In his spare and vacation time, he enjoys travelling abroad, biking, windsurfing and listening to music.
