Michael Duff

Managing Director
The Airline Analyst

Michael has been involved in Aviation finance since he founded the Asian Aviation team for Citi in 1990. He was a senior credit officer of Citibank. During his time in charge, Citi took a leading role in financing the region's airlines.  Aside from generating significant revenue growth and diversifying the product platform, Michael managed to avoid involvement in the three airline bankruptcies and restructurings of the era: Ansett, Garuda and PAL. In mid 2002 he transferred to London to lead the Europe, Middle East and Africa Aviation team for Citi and then in 2004 decided to take a break and spend more time with his family and his golf game. Having failed to achieve his modest golfing objectives, he has enjoyed being back in the industry developing for Euromoney The Airline Analyst, a web-based financial data and analysis application for the airline industry. This product was launched in 2011 and is steadily growing its subscriber base, now with more than 80 clients. A derivative product "TAA Financial Ratings" was launched in 2013 and he is also now working on two other data products, “AFJ Deals Tracker” and “AFJ Fleets Tracker”. Michael has a B Com (Hons) degree from the University of Edinburgh.
