John F. Pritchard is the Global Chair for the Aircraft Finance practice at Holland & Knight LLP, based in its New York office, and is very active in the financing and leasing of aircraft and other equipment and facilities. He has been ranked in the 25 world’s Best of the Best by the Legal Media Group in Aviation for the past 10 years. He has been Aviation Lawyer of the Year for each of 2014-2016 in rankings by Who’s Who Legal Awards. He represents lessees, lessors, lenders, borrowers and government guarantors in domestic and cross-border leases, purchases, financings, securitizations, workouts and foreclosures of aircraft and all types of equipment.
 
John is the prior Chairman of the Legal Advisory Panel to the Aviation Working Group dealing with the Cape Town Convention and continues to be an active member.
 
He is a Member of the American College of Finance Lawyers. He served as Chairman for the annual Euromoney Airfinance Legal Conference in Washington, D.C. from 1986 to 2004. Mr. Pritchard was the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Aircraft Financing of the American Bar Association (ABA) from 1987 to1994. He is on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce. He is a graduate of Columbia Law School and Bowdoin College.
 
Mr. Pritchard is the author of the US Chapter in McBain and Hames, Aircraft Finance: Registration, Security and Enforcement, Longmans; the chapter regarding “Aviation Workouts” in Rome, Business Workouts, Warren, Gorham & Lamont; the chapter on “Aircraft Leasing” in Wong, Equipment Leasing, Matthew Bender and the United States chapter in McBain, Aircraft Liens and Detention Rights, Sweet & Maxwell.
 
In 2013, John co-authored with David Lloyd, General Counsel of GECAS, an article in Issue 2 of the Cape Town Law Journal entitled Analysis of Non-Consensual Rights and Interests under Article 39 of the Cape Town Convention.
