Richard Puttre

Jones Day

Richard Puttré represents lenders, underwriters, and borrowers in conventional and complex financing structures, with a primary focus on cross-border project finance transactions. He counsels financial institutions, project sponsors, and investors in the development, financing, acquisition, and disposition of infrastructure companies and assets throughout the world, particularly in Latin America and the United States. Much of Richard's recent experience has focused on the renewable energy sector, representing the sponsors in connection with hydroelectric generation projects in Panama, three photovoltaic solar plants in Peru, a wind power project in the Dominican Republic, and further photovoltaic solar projects in Chile and Panama. Many of his recent transactions have involved multilateral financing entities, including the Inter-American Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and Corporación Andina de Fomento as well as development finance institutions from Spain, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. He also represented the lenders in the leveraged lease financing of the Nevada Solar One Project and in connection with various wind power projects throughout the United States. Richard's practice also involves the development and financing of traditional infrastructure projects. He represented the lenders in the financing of the San José-Caldera toll road in Costa Rica and the sponsors in the development and financing of the Vespucio Sur toll road in Chile. He is currently advising the underwriters in connection with a major infrastructure project in North Carolina and the financing parties in connection with the bid for a similar project in Texas. Richard was resident in the Jones Day Madrid Office from 2001 to 2014.
