Gerald M. Lotilla has years of experience in finance, investment banking and project development in the energy sector. He is currently a Managing Director of Next Power Consortium, Inc., an advisory firm dedicated in providing project, financial and technical advisory services to various power firms and distribution utilities. He has been part of various financial advisory engagements in the Philippine power sector such as the project development of new power plants, the privatization of government power plants, the bidding of the IPP Administration contracts and the entry of the private sector to manage electric cooperatives under an Investment Management Contract. He was formerly with National Power Corporation (NPC) and Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) at the height of the privatization of its assets and the Philippine power industry restructuring where he worked on key issues such as asset valuation, structuring and pricing of power supply contracts, financing, risk management for debt and PPA obligations, IPP contract renegotiations, electricity trading and spot market, and regulatory issues in the context of a deregulated market.
