Carlos St. James is Director of Strategic Development - Americas at Wood Group Clean Energy; he is considered one of the founders of the renewable energy sector in Latin America. With considerable experience in project development, project finance and energy policy in emerging markets, he is a leading advisor to investors, lenders, developers and to the public sector. 
Since 2010 he has also been a board member of the Latin American and Caribbean Council on Renewable Energy (LAC-CORE) in Washington, DC, which promotes development of the industry, and was elected the organization’s first President (2011-13). He co-founded the Argentine Renewable Energies Chamber in 2005 and was the organization’s Chairman for its first five years, and founded the Middle East-Americas Energy Council to serve as a bridge between the two regions on energy matters. He is the publisher of the Latin America Energy Review, a popular blog that promotes debate on the industry’s issues and holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School at Tufts University in the United States.
