Binny Prabhakar

Binny has more than 20 years experience delivering policy, strategy and planning as well as financing across energy and carbon intensive sectors including power, renewables, oil & gas and transport. Her current work focuses on the ‘Nexus’ approach driving electrification-decarbonization-digitization of industry value chains for accelerating renewables transformation and innovative solutions.

For nearly a decade, she has been working in Africa with the World Bank and African Development Bank on Energy Access projects, identifying, and financing clean energy infrastructure. As a Director in Climate-KIC (EU Commission), the largest EU PPP for climate action innovations, she allocated funding for innovative solutions maximizing climate and SDG outcomes. She has also held leadership roles in Shell, BP Oil and Frost & Sullivan.
Binny started her career as an architect designing large sustainable-self-contained towns in India for Govt. of India. She holds a Ph.D in Strategy & Policy (& an MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a Bachelors in Architecture. She has lived and worked across all continents (EU, Asia, Africa, LatAm, US, including India and China).
