Shobana Venkataraman

Shobana has twenty years of experience in infrastructure development and finance. She has been with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) since 2004 where she has been advising governments on implementing private infrastructure projects in the power, transport and water sectors in East Asia and Pacific and the Middle East. Transactions include thermal IPPs ranging from 250 MW to 2000 MW in East Asia and the Middle East, an airport concession in Jordan and small diesel and hydro IPPs in island countries.

Prior to IFC, Shobana was a Senior Associate at Infrastructure Finance Group, a project finance advisory firm in Washington, DC where she advised project sponsors on structuring and financing infrastructure projects in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Shobana holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and a BA in Physics and Mathematics from Smith College.
