Guillermo Fiad

Guillermo Fiad is currently President of Ferrocarriles Argentinos (Argentine Railway).

Guillermo was born in Dolores, Buenos Aires Province, in 1966. He is a passionate for challenging and shaping the future.

He holds degrees in Civil, Constructions and Hydraulic Engineering from the University of La Plata. He also achieved postgraduate degrees in Business Administration and Economy from the University of Columbia (USA), IAE and ESEADE (Argentina).

Before taking over his current role in the President Mauricio Macri’s Administration, he held executive and board of director’s positions in several companies related to the energy, infrastructure and agro-industrial sectors. Among other responsibilities, he was President and CEO of Duke Energy Southern Cone for over ten years, member of the AmCham executive committee, Director of AGEERA and President of the Renewable Energy Foundation for Patagonia.

In addition, Guillermo successfully co-founded a company as well as invested and led the acquisition of two other firms. Earlier in his carrier, he worked for Shell, Metrogas, NYSEG (USA) and Bank Boston.

Finally, since 2009, acknowledging the need to improve people’s lives in his own country, he has been voluntarily working to identify and attract talent to enter the civil service, with the great challenge of building a better place to live.
