James Hall

American Airlines

Jim Hall has been with American Airlines since 2006 and currently serves as Director of Corporate Finance and Treasury. In this role, he manages all capital raises for the airline from planning to execution as well as oversees all of the debt administration functions. During his tenure in Treasury at American, he has raised over $25 billion in liquidity utilizing capital markets, private bank mortgages, sale/leaseback transactions, tax exempt municipal markets, as well as a handful of other bespoke financings. A number of these financings have been recognized industry wide in various trade publications. During the American Airlines bankruptcy, Jim was the lead negotiator for all of the $2.4 billion aircraft unsecured claims. Prior to working in aviation, Jim was a turnaround consultant for a small boutique firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
