Franco Moccia studied at the Naval Lyceum “Almirante Brown” and has a degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires.
He began his professional career in Techint and then held several positions at Citibank. He worked for 14 years in the Argentine headquarters, where he became a director in the Corporate Banking area. At the beginning of the year 2000, he was transferred to preside Ecuador headquarters, then Peru and, finally, Colombia.
In 2008 he decided to rethink what course he wanted for the future. He decided, then, that he wanted to dedicate himself to work to reduce poverty in Argentina in a sustainable manner, this decision led him to pursue a master's degree in Public Administration at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
He returned to Argentina in 2010 and joined the City of Buenos Aires Government as an advisor and in 2012, he assumed as Undersecretary of Planning and Management Control. He held that position until December 2015, when he assumed the position of Minister of Urban Development and Transportation of the City.
Franco is married and has two children. He is the son of Italian immigrants. Parallel to his role as a public official, he is a member of the G25 board and vice president of the Sarmientina Association.
