Bart was appointed to the position of Group Chief Operations Officer of Mainstream in 2018 where he has overall responsibility for the Group’s project development, construction and operational activities. This appointment follows his secondment to Mainstream Chile as General Manager for three years from 2015 to 2018.  During his tenure in Chile, the company won 3,366GWhs of PPAs in the 2016 distribution electricity tenders, saw 300MW enter construction and the Chilean team grow to over 80 employees.  Under his leadership, Mainstream is recognised as the leading renewable energy company in Chile with a portfolio of over 2,000MW.
Previous to his appointment in Chile, Bart was Chief Operating Officer for global onshore developments in Mainstream during which time he led the development of more than 8,000MW of wind and solar projects around the world.
Prior to this, he was in charge of the Irish construction team at Airtricity, a global renewable energy company, where he led the construction of a large number of windfarms. Bart was also involved in the development and construction of Airtricity wind projects in Scotland and the United States. Before moving into the renewable sector, Bart worked with PM Group, a world-class engineering and project management company; and with Schlumberger Oilfield Services as a wireline engineer supervising large onshore and offshore reservoir evaluation wireline projects for multinational clients.
Bart graduated as an Electronic and Electrical Engineer from Trinity College Dublin and holds an MBA from University College Dublin. He holds PfMP, PgMP, PMP, RMP and SP certifications from the PMI and has a higher diploma in Construction Law and Contract Administration from Trinity College Dublin, and a Diploma in Executive Coaching from the Irish Management Institute.
