Event Overview

As populations start to travel ‘smarter’, questions are being raised around the transport systems we have taken for granted for decades. With transport at a crossroads, IJGlobal’s European Transport Investment Summit will focus on the intersect between those currently (and historically) charged with the development, financing and ownership of Europe’s transport infrastructure, and those responsible for bringing game-changing new concepts and technology to the space.

Through varied session formats, including case studies, expert-led presentations, and panel discussions, speakers will:

  • Detail how Europe’s leading cities are becoming ‘smart’, and what this means for their existing transport infrastructure
  • Provide step-by-step updates on transport disruptors and their journeys to scalability
  • Examine how legacy infrastructure projects can be adapted for new transport concepts, and who is liable for any necessary upgrades
  • Determine the impact market disruptors are having on project finance lenders and infrastructure investors, including which asset types they expect to be most heavily impacted
  • Quantify the impact the changing transport paradigm has had on project procurement levels
  • Outline the actions procurement authorities are taking to become comfortable with technological risk, and how tender processes are being updated to reflect this
  • Explore the dynamics of a traditional transport pilot-project, and whether the traditional infrastructure developers are sufficiently represented as participants

The summit is designed to provide a meeting place for all those with a stake in the future of Europe’s transport networks. As well as the typical infrastructure project development community – from procurers, developers and investors to project lenders, advisors and law firms – the summit will gather the key players at the industry’s cutting edge of transport and their advisors. Ample opportunity for all to meet and ask questions is presented by the networking breaks, the drinks reception to end the day, and in particular the networking roundtable discussions, which allow for face-to-face contact with senior industry leaders.
