Daniela Carrera-Marquis, a Venezuelan citizen, is the Inter-American Development Bank’s newly appointed Country Representative for The Bahamas, effective November 1st, 2018.

Previously, she served as Country Representative for Brazil from 2012 – 2016, leading the oversight of IDB’s largest, and diverse portfolio of development projects. Prior to this role, she managed the Financial Markets Division of the Structured and Corporate Finance Department, responsible for capital markets development, trade finance and financial intermediaries. She also served as senior investment director with a focus on capital market operations, with housing finance being one of the key areas. Daniela Carrera Marquis has more than 18 years of experience in the banking sector.
Prior to joining the IDB, she worked at ING Bank London, UK, as the Latin American Product Specialist. In Venezuela, she was head of financial markets of ING Bank Venezuela. Mrs. Carrera-Marquis holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Central University of Venezuela and a master’s degree in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
