Mehmet Saydam

Head of Investments
Reuben Brothers

Mehmet Saydam is head of investment, natural resources, at Reuben Brothers in London. Saydam has covered natural resources and commodities in emerging markets for 20 years at institutions including Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. At Reuben Brothers, he heads the shareholders' investment team, leading the expansion of its natural resources franchise. This is a wide-ranging mandate that includes iron ore in Morocco, metallurgical coal in Indonesia, wind towers in the U.S., a thermal coal mine feeding a coal-fired power plant in Asia and an integrated chicken farm in Russia. Saydam led successful jumbo financings in oil and gas in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region during the global financial crisis despite headwinds in the syndication markets. He is leading Reuben Brothers' effort to establish a full-service shipping company aiming to ride the curve of steadily improving global trade volumes. Saydam studied philosophy at the Sorbonne.
