Event Overview

The North American Electronic Bond Trading Forum took place on Wednesday 21 June 2017 in New York. It brought together asset managers, trading platforms, technology vendors, and banks, confronting the challenges faced by fixed income traders as the market structure continues to adapt to ongoing technological innovation and challenges.

Opening with a keynote speech from Alex Sedgwick, Head of Fixed Income Market Structure and Electronic Trading at T. Rowe Price, the conference then brought together five senior representatives from the fixed income world to set the scene for the day's discussions. This was followed by a focused discussion on fixed income ETFs, exploring the role they could play in enhancing credit market liquidity and bringing more innovation to fixed income overall.

Through interactive workshops, target table discussions, and audience polling, the day's proceedings covered a multitude of concerns and challenges, from the development of FinTech in fixed income trading, to the impact of MiFID II on the US market. Traders from leading firms such as BlackRock, Vanguard, Deutsche Asset Management, and Alliance Bernstein each gave crucial insight into the current buy-side mindset, alongside innovative platform and tech providers like Algomi, Tradeweb, and Castleoak Securities.

Euromoney Conferences would like to thank all our sponsors, speakers and attendees for supporting the event. We look forward to reconvening for the 2018 conference.
